Duck egg Custard ( Puding telur bebek)






In the Uk duck egg isn't used much for cooking we used it a lot in Indonesia, specially for salted egg ( my favourite),  curried egg even for ommelette. We were given half a done of duck eggs, and we decided to make custard. So I found this recipe (adapted from : rutabagaranch.wordpress.com) ....and yes it is richer than ordinary egg custard. It's worth a try.

Bagi yang suka atau seeing membuat creme caramel boleh juga dicoba resep dengan telur bebek, hasilnya lebih enak...



 ingredients / bahan yang diperlukan
5 duck eggs, beaten
   telur bebek, kocok dengan garpu
85 gr  sugar
    gula putih
450 ml single cream
    ml single cream, dapat diganti dengan whip cream
720 ml full cream milk
    ml full cream milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
   sdt vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
   sdt garam

Method / cara membuat
Mix the above ingredients
Campur semua bahan diatas
In a sauce pan warm the cream, milk, vanilla extract and sugar until the sugar dissolve. Leave to cool for 5 - 10 minutes
Panaskan cream, susu, vanilla dan gula dalam panci sampai gula larut. Biarkan dingin kira-kira 5-10 menit.
Drizzle the milk slowly into the beaten eggs while stirring, so as not to cook the eggs.
Tuangkan campuran susu perlahan kedalam kocokan telur sambil diaduk, supaya telur tidak menggumpal.

Pass through a sieve 
Kemudian saring
Put into ramekins or other oven-safe cups 
Masukkan ke dalam ramekin dish atau wadah lain yang tahan panas 
Bake in bain marie for  25 -30 minutes on 180 c oven, (depend on the type of your oven)
Beri air dalam baking tray kira-kira 2 cm, masukkan ke dalam oven selama 25-30 menit dengan api kecil-sedang (180 C), atau tergantung jenis oven anda.

 Makes 12 single-serving custard cups.
Kira-kira akan menjadi 12 ramekin dish ukuran sedang.
