Duck Eggs Omelette ( Dadar Telur Bebek )


This ommelette was what my mother used to make for us. Our family just love duck eggs, we make all sort of dishes with them, salted duck eggs, curried duck eggs, ingredient for noddles etc.

This recipe is great for vegetarian (though I  made two versions, the other one with prawns) it's just full of goodness, just replace the prawn with any vegetable you fancy or you might have in the fridge.

The texture of the ommelette is quite solid yet moist and the colour of the yolk, the vegetable and the chili  make this dish very inviting to eat.

There aren't many people using duck eggs for their cooking, this is a great way to try them

Kalau suka telur dadar, coba resep telur bebek yang satu ini, tambahan buncis dan tahu membuat dadar telur ini berbeda dengan telur dadar yang lainnya, apalagi kalau banyak cabenya..... mmmmmmm yum...yumm




Bahan-bahan yang diperlukan  /  you will need
4 telur bebek
4 duck eggs
10 bawang merah
10 shallots
5 siung bawang putih
5 cloves garlic

5 cabe merah
5 red chili

10 buncis
10 French beans

3 batang daun prei
3 baby leeks

250 gr tahu cina, cincang halus
250 gr silken tofu

150 gr udang, bersihkan dan potong kasar
150 gr of prawn, clean and roughly chopped

garam dan merica secukupnya
salt and pepper to taste

minyak goreng
cooking oil








Cara Memasak /  Preparation

Rajang halus semua bahan kemudian tumis sampai harum, kecuali tahu dan udang
finely slice all ingredients except the tofu and prawn then sauté till fragrant



Masukkan udang (kalau bukan vegetarian), aduk sampai masak, sisihkan 
Add in the prawn for non vegetarian omellette, 




Sementara itu panaskan wajan nonstick atau teflon kemudian tambahkan 3 sdm minyak goreng.
Preheat the frying pan, preferably nonstick or teflon, add 3 tbsp of cooking oil.




Kocok telur dengan garpu dimangkok sampai merata kemudian masukkan tahu, garam dan merica.
Masukkan tumisan kedalam telur
Whisk the eggs with a fork in a bowl then incorporate tofu, salt and pepper
Mix well the rest of ingredients




Pastikan penggorengan panas kemudian goreng sampai dasar telur berwarna kecoklatan (sebaiknya wajan ditutup sewaktu menggoreng agar bagian atas cepat masak) kemudian hati-hati membalikkannnya atau boleh juga dilipat saja ditengah kalau suka dadarnya lembut ditengah.
Make sure the frying pan is hot, pour in the mixture into it and cook until the bottom of the omelette is golden brown (it is better to cover the frying pan it ill cook evenly specially the top part), carefully flip it over. If you prefer the omelette soft and moist in the middle you can just fold it instead.

Sebaiknya dihidangkan segera sewaktu masih panas....
Serve while its hot, we like it just as it is with hot steam rice.
